Ingredients:
Onions- 2 Cups
Tomatoes - 2 Cups
Ginger - 1 Piece
Garlic - 6 to 8 Cloves
Green Chillies - 2
Oil - 1/4 cup
Clarified Butter - 2 Tbsp.
Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp.
Red Chilli Powder - 3 Tsp.
Coriander Powder - 2 Tsp.
Channa Masala - 2 Tsp.
Salt - According to taste
Cumin Seeds - 2 Tsp.
Bay Leaves - 2.
Channa - 1/4 kg.
Coriander Leaves - Few (for garnishing).
Method :
Soak the channa overnight.Then on the next day pressure
cook the channa with some turmeric powder and salt.Keep
it aside.
Blend onions,garlic,ginger and green chillies into a paste and
set it aside.
Heat a pan with some oil and clarified butter and
add 2 tsp.of cumin seeds and let it splutter.
When it splutters add the ground paste of onion,garlic,ginger
and green chillies and fry until the paste turns golden brown.
Now add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,coriander powder
and channa masala and stir well.
Then add tomato paste with some salt and mix it well.
Let it cook till a nice aroma arises.Add the cooked channa
along with the water and let it boil until the gravy thickens.
Garnish with some coriander leaves.
Serve it hot with Bhatura.
