Ridgegourd/Peerkangai Milk Kootu
Ingredients:
Ridgegourd/Peerkangai - 1/2 Kg
Milk - 1 or 1 1/2 Cup
Onion - 1
Green Chillies - 4
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp.
Salt - To Taste
Oil - 3 tbsp.
Method:
Peel the skin off from the ridgegourd and chop into medium pieces.
Keep it aside.
Chop the onion finely and set it aside.
Slit the green chillies lengthwise and set it aside.
Heat a pan with some oil and add the onion and green chillies and
fry till they are transculent.
Then add chopped ridgegourd,turmeric powder and salt to taste
and stir it well.
Let the veggies cook until they are tender.
Now add the milk and let it boil for few mins.
Serve it hot with plain rice and papad.
Note : Ridgegourd,bottlegourd and snakegourd can be used
to prepare this kootu.
